Of the many Rogers’ stories that collectors and historians share, the rare and elusive Purple Diamond Pearl drums perhaps holds the greatest mystique. After briefly appearing on a handful of Rogers drums in 1957 (including artist Cozy Cole’s personal outfit), this fabled and sublime drum finish seemed to vanish into the annals of history. Now in a very special limited release, Rogers announces our new Cleveland Series, Purple Diamond Pearl drum collection. Crafted by hand for the contemporary player with a vintage character.

The Cleveland signature sound begins with an advanced proprietary shell, consisting of a 5-ply Maple and Poplar body with 2-ply Maple reinforcement rings. This robust shell design offers increased dynamic range and durability, providing a canvas for unlimited expression.

Rogers Drums has faced quite a few phases since their inception in Brewster’s Station, NY, as the USA’s first calfskin drumhead manufacturer, back in 1849. Changing hands and locations several times along the way, including a period of widely monikered “golden age” manufacturing from 1956–1965 at their famous Covington, Ohio-based location, Rogers has seen a stunning rebirth of some of their most iconic instruments and drum-making techniques in recent years.
