The year was 1987 and it marked the beginning of Bill Detamore's pastime of drum building. He made one, sold it, and then made two more of them. As a result, some of the best hand-crafted instruments on the market today developed from this. He introduced solid (one piece), exotic wood stave, and plate metal patterns for snare drums in order to advance the art of the instrument further. In order to complete their collection of drums, Pork Pie has also released their Little Squealer and Hip Pig series of drums.
